NRA Basic Rifle Shooting Course

Have you ever wanted to learn how to shoot a rifle?  There is something about hitting a bullseye on a long distance target that just can’t be beat.  This NRA Basic Rifle Shooting class is at least 8 hours long and contains both classroom and range time instruction.  Shooters will be able to experience a variety of different type of rifles and learn about their unique action types and functions.

Topics that will be taught include learning how to operate a rifle safely, rifle parts and operation, ammunition, shooting fundamentals, range rules, shooting from the bench rest, prone, sitting, standing, and kneeling positions, cleaning, and continued opportunities for skill development.

If you own a Rifle, please bring it with you along with eye protection, ear protection, and 100 rounds of ammunition.  If you need to rent a rifle, please let the instructor know.

During the class you will receive the Basics of Rifle Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, and the NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet.  At the successful completion of class you will receive an NRA Basics of Rifle Shooting Certificate.

If you are interested in becoming a rifle instructor this is the first of a series of classes you will need to pass to become an instructor.

If you want to sign up for the NRA Basic Rifle Shooting course, please go to the calendar, register for the class you are interested in, and then make your payment.
